Name: Kato [pronounced "kay-TOH"]

Age: 14 years old (season 1-2), 15 years old (season 3)

Height: 5 feet

Class: Earthbender

Relatives: King Bumi (great-great-great grand uncle)

History: Young Kato doesn't really have any memory of his parents. He was found as a baby in a wrecked carriage at the bottom of a steep hill, in the arms of his dead mother and father. The person that founded him was a guard returning from a mission. As soon as he saw the royal seal on the carriage and the white hair on the baby's head, he realized that he was a relative to King Bumi. As fast as he could, he hurried back to the Kingdom of Omashu to show the King what he found. Shocked and stunned, the King ordered the nurses to clean the baby and tend to any cuts or scratches he may have gotten from the crash. the next day, after the funeral of his great great grand nephew and his wife, the king was asked about what to do with the baby. And with much thought, he decided to keep him and raise him as his own, seeing as how he's the only living relative of the child.

And throughout the years, as Kato got older and more intelligent, he showed much potential at becoming a skilled earthbender like his great-great-great granduncle. Ever since he was a toddler, Bumi taught him every move, every skill and every trick that he knew about earthbending and day by day, Kato kept getting stronger and better. He was almost as good as Bumi. So much in fact, that they would create different earthbending games that were more for having fun than it was for training. There was even a sport that he created called "earthsliding", which was like snowboarding, but with rocks and gravel instead of snow.

One day, a now teenaged Kato saw how happy some of the local kids were with their parents while taking a stroll through the city, and that made him wonder about his parents. Who were they? What were they like? He asked his uncle Bumi with curiosity. And with great pleasure, he told him all about his parents. He explained how they were well-known travelers and liked to see new places and meet new people. The perils they faced and the wonderful things they experienced. And after hearing his uncle Bumi go on with the stories of his parents, he then realized that he also wondered what was outside the walls of Omashu. What new and interesting things lie just over the horizon. He was told stories about the other nations as a child, but now he was old enough to see it for himself. And so after he announced that he wanted to follow in his parents' footsteps, he packed his needed essentials and walked over to the entrance of the kingdom with his uncle to begin his new journey. After the time they spent together over the years, King Bumi knew that his nephew would be just fine. Kato then hugged his uncle goodbye and thanked him. He told him that his home will always be here in Omashu and even though he never knew his actual father, he was more of a father to him than he could ever ask for. And with that, Kato took his first step towards his new life.

Personality: Throughout the years Kato has spent with his great-great-great grand uncle, King Bumi, he's adapted most of his traits. He's weird, a bit peculiar, but also wise, fun-loving, imaginative and understanding. He may act like a complete nincompoop, but he's more clever than he appears. He's always two steps ahead of the enemy and can have the situation totally under control (or so he says!) and no matter what the situation, he remains completely optimistic.

I know, I know, I'm still working the bugs out. And I'm still wondering about the whole Kato+Azula relationship , but this is basically what I came up with so far.

EDIT: Changed his hair back, but made his skin lighter so It'd be the same as Katara and Sokka's
